Garden Design

Initial Home Visit

During an initial meeting, with you in your garden, I will discuss:

  • Ideas which you may have had already

  • What you would like to use your garden for in the future

  • Who will be using your garden

  • How much time you plan to spend maintaining your garden

  • Your budget

  • Whether you wish to retain any existing plants or features, if possible.

  • If you live outside my geographical boundaries and are having a postal design, these questions will  be on the questionnaire.

I will then do a site survey, measuring and photographing the existing garden and any features which will be retained.  Soil type, aspect and surroundings will also be noted.

As I record, I start to form some ideas of how your requirements might be brought together into a practical and attractive garden, and I will discuss these primary thoughts with you at the time.

Back at my desk, I will draw up the garden and start to form a plan. Once I am  happy that this concept plan fits your brief, you will be sent a copy so that you can see on paper what I am proposing. This concept plan will allow you to understand what the garden will look like; check that patios, lawns etc are a suitable size for your requirements, and see how these different areas fit together.
